Philosophy
The Prostate Cancer Treatment Center (PCTC) was established in 2009 as a dedicated center for prostate cancer treatments. It is a world leader in Brachytherapy. The Prostate Cancer Treatment Center team began their mission pioneering prostate cancer treatments at the Northwest Tumor Institute in 1985 and the Seattle Prostate Institute in 1997. The team is dedicated to research, high quality care and the latest technology for prostate cancer treatment. We continue to strive to be the world’s leaders in prostate cancer research and training programs.
The philosophy of the Prostate Cancer Treatment Center is simply to provide the best information, technology and care to insure the best outcome and quality of life for each individual patient. Each of the physicians has over 25 years experience in prostate brachytherapy and are dedicated to caring for each patient as if they were relatives. We believe each patient should enjoy the best outcome and the best quality of life and have the best individual information regarding their treatment. Patients are assessed for their overall health, quality of life and social situation and how treatment may affect these. We believe that each man’s treatment must be individualized. These choices may include brachytherapy, external beam radiation, hormone therapy, watchful waiting, surgery or a combination of these. We want each patient to know that their choice is based on sound scientific information from all reliable sources.
Our philosophy means that we will respect your time, and that we will answer all of your questions to the best of our ability. After your treatment, we will continue to assist you and follow your progress. We continue to see patients in follow-up that we treated over 20 years ago.
